Sage Products Named A Best Medium Sized Company To Work For In America
Fourth year in a row the innovative healthcare products manufacturer ranks among top American businesses
Cary, Ill. (June 24, 2008) - Sage Products, Inc. has been honored by The Great Place to Work® Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as one of the 2008 "Best Small & Medium Size Companies to Work for in America." Sage is featured among the top 25 medium size companies from various industries with 251 to 999 employees. This is the fourth year in a row Sage has made this prestigious list.
"We've had many awards and accomplishments over the years, but we truly cherish this honor because it comes from those who know Sage best our associates," said Scott Brown, President and Chief Operating Officer at Sage Products. "When you have the best workforce in America, it's easy to build a great place to work."
A veteran owned company in business for nearly 37 years, Sage is an innovative manufacturer of healthcare products with a focus on prevention and solving real problems in the healthcare industry. Sage's products are, and have always been, made with pride in the U.S.A.
Being named as one of the best medium sized companies to work for is a tribute to the pride and passion exhibited by Sage associates. With an average tenure of seven and a half years, Sage associates trust in each other and the product, and embrace the company's family atmosphere.
"I've worked other places where I felt like just a number. But here at Sage, the owners and executives not only know who I am, but genuinely care about me and my family," says Sage Accounts Payable Coordinator Penny Frye.
Sage's core belief in people comes from the top. Chairman of the Board and CEO Vince Foglia has instilled this value in the corporate culture since he founded the company in 1971.
"People have always been our most precious resource. We will continue to invest time, energy and money to ensure this resource is nurtured and protected," says Foglia.
Sage's strong associate pride also comes from the company's high standing in community affairs. Sage has given to countless community endeavors in McHenry County and the surrounding area, including a recent $2.5 million donation to Centegra Health System for a brand new women's health pavilion. Other Sage causes include the Centegra Sage Cancer Center and the Sage House at the Children's Center for Autism.
"It's wonderful to be able to work for a company that cares about so much more than the bottom line," says Sage Executive Assistant Ann Shirk. "It makes me proud to see Sage's stamp on so much in the community I live in."
To be considered for the Great Place to Work distinction, Sage staff randomly participated in a Great Place to Work Trust Index® survey last year. Staff comments, combined with detailed information about Sage's culture, work environment, employee benefits and other information helped the company earn recognition. Earning this honor becomes tougher and more competitive every year as the pool of companies vying for a spot on the list grows. The Great Place to Work Institute produces various Best Companies lists in the U.S., including Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® in America, which recognizes the top companies with 1,000 or more employees. Companies that earn recognition use smart people management strategies to develop successful organizations with highly productive and satisfied workforces. Consequently, their employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people with whom they work.
Winners were announced June 23 at SHRM's 60th Annual Conference & Exposition in Chicago. For more information about Sage Products, visit www.sageproducts.com. For additional information about the Best Companies lists, visit www.greatplacetowork.com and www.shrm.org. |
